Going back to a composer-first home

/Webhound Team

We tried a chat-first home where the agent asked what you wanted before kicking off research. It added friction more than it helped, so we rolled it back. The composer is the home page again — the agent still does the same work, it just doesn't make you talk to it first.

LaTeX math and DOI lookup in research

/Webhound Team

OpenSearch research now stores math in katex-source spans for KaTeX in the reader, and adds a fallback lookup_unpaywall_by_doi tool that returns Unpaywall JSON when search and page visits cannot read a paper.

New session minimums, and why we're raising them

/Webhound Team

Pro reports now start at $10 instead of $3, Pro datasets at $5. Flash reports start at $2 and Flash datasets at $1. Here's the data behind the change and which model to pick for which job.

How we think about truth, verification, and "time to first trust" at Webhound

/Webhound Team

People who do work where truth matters don't trust AI. They spend more time verifying than the AI saves them. For three months we've been focused on one question: how do you build AI research people can actually trust.

Tool Chains on Every Claim, Traces on Every Cell

/Webhound Team

Click any claim — a report pill or a dataset cell — to see the exact tool calls that produced it: searches, page visits, code executions, with full inputs and outputs. Plus structured claim traces now on every dataset cell.

Research Quality: Better Sources, Smarter Planning, Real-Time Guidance

/Webhound Team

Redesigned source indicators, mid-research guidance, assembly versioning, full LinkedIn profiles, 15+ platform scrapers, smarter planning, and anti-AI writing rules.

Publications: Share, Version, and Fork Research

/Webhound Team

Publish any session or folder as a versioned artifact with a permanent URL. Four license tiers, immutable version history, one-click forking with attribution, author profiles, and a public explore page.

Claim Traceability, Multi-Document Research, and New API Endpoints

/Webhound Team

Every factual claim now carries a structured trace. Reports are built across multiple working documents and assembled into a final output. Three new API endpoints expose documents, claims, and traces.

Webhound Agent: A Research Assistant with a Workspace

/Webhound Team

Webhound now has a conversational agent and workspace. Start research from chat, read and analyze your existing work, organize everything in folders, and let the agent remember your preferences over time.

Code Execution: Webhound Can Now Write and Run Python

/Webhound Team

Webhound can now write and execute Python code during research—calculations, charts, data transformations, API calls, and more. Works across reports, datasets, enrichment, and Ask mode.

Cross-Session Access, Conversational Planning, and Research Phases

/Webhound Team

Webhound can now read your previous sessions, Plan mode is conversational, and research budgets can be split into phases.

Plan, Agent, and Ask: Mode names and new Ask mode

/Webhound Team

We renamed Guided to Plan and One shot to Agent, and added Ask for quick Q&A over your report or dataset—with optional web lookups.
