Research completed June 2026. Primary geographic focus: UAE & Saudi Arabia. Secondary: Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman. Scope: white-collar / professional roles.
Critical methodological note: The figures below estimate what share of publicly advertised professional job openings appear on each platform. Because a single role is typically cross-posted to 3–5 platforms, these presence rates overlap heavily and do not sum to 100%. This is a fundamentally different metric from "share of hires by platform" (covered in Section 2).
[10]similarweb.com| Platform | Est. Presence on Advertised Professional Roles | Confidence | Key Evidence & Source Basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| 80–95% | Medium | ~65M MENA members (Inc. Arabia, 2024); ~10–11.3M KSA members, ~6.4–9.7M UAE members; RFS HR Consultancy notes 60–70% of UAE senior hires sourced via LinkedIn network; dominant professional network across all GCC white-collar sectors. ⚠️ LinkedIn does not publish per-country active job counts. [27][7][28]rfsonshr.com +2 | |
| Company Career Pages | 90–100% | High | Nearly all large GCC employers maintain career pages (e.g., Aramco, SABIC, NEOM, PIF entities). Altalhi (2024, n=35 Saudi employers): 77% preferred company website as primary application channel. These are typically linked to ATS platforms and represent the employer's owned channel. ⚠️ Career pages are often the destination of postings syndicated from job boards, not an independent posting destination. | Bayt.com | 60–80% | Medium | Self-reported: 57.8M registered seekers, 79,400 active jobs, 60,000 employers (Jun 2026). SimilarWeb KSA Jobs category rank #9. RFS HR: "dominates mid-level Arabic-speaking professional market," "25M registered users across MENA." ⚠️ All scale figures are vendor self-reported. [24][25][1][7]bayt.com +3 |
| Indeed (ae/sa) | 50–70% | Medium | ~50,000–80,000 active UAE jobs; ~15,000–35,000 active KSA jobs (Jun 2026 snapshots). Global rank #55. Aggregator model pulls from other platforms, inflating apparent share. RFS HR: best for AED 5,000–25,000/month roles (ops, admin, customer service). ⚠️ Indeed ended free organic job visibility in March 2026; counts include syndicated duplicates from other platforms. | Naukrigulf | 40–60% | Medium | ~36,500 total active jobs: UAE 33,263, KSA 7,211 (Jun 2026). SimilarWeb UAE Jobs category rank #2. Traffic: UAE 29.85%, India 29.61%, KSA 11.38%. Stronger for expat/Indian-subcontinent candidate pool. ⚠️ All job count figures are vendor self-reported. [19][2]naukrigulf.com +1 |
| GulfTalent | 25–40% | Medium | Self-reported: 10M+ registered professionals, 10,000+ employers; active jobs: UAE 15,263, KSA 5,559, Qatar 1,437 (Jun 2026). RFS HR: "more specifically relevant to white-collar professional roles … stronger penetration in Saudi and Kuwait markets." ⚠️ All scale figures are vendor self-reported. [17][18]gulftalent.com +1 |
| Government Portals
(Jadarat, Nafis, Qiwa-linked) |
10–25% | Medium | Saudi Jadarat: ~70,000 vacancies at launch (Aug 2024); 56–71% of Saudi unemployed job seekers use it (GASTAT Q2 2025/Q3 2024). UAE Nafis: 176,000+ cumulative Emirati placements. Higher share (est. 30–50%) for citizen-targeted roles specifically. ⚠️ Jadarat figure is from launch; no verified current volume. Nafis figure is cumulative, not annual flow. | Regional Aggregators
(Tanqeeb, Laimoon, Dubizzle Jobs) |
10–25% | Low | Primarily syndication/aggregation, not original employer posting. Dubizzle Jobs shares ownership with Bayt.com (EMPG/Dubizzle Group). No independent active posting data found. Combined presence is directional estimate only. synthesis |
| Glassdoor | 5–15% | Medium | ~57,797 UAE jobs visible; ~2,295 KSA full-time (Jun 2026). Listings almost entirely syndicated from Indeed (both owned by Recruit Holdings). Not a primary independent posting destination. Primary GCC value is company reviews/salary transparency, not job discovery. [11][12]glassdoor.com +1 |
The high platform presence rates above reflect the fact that GCC employers cross-post each role across multiple platforms. SimilarWeb's audience affinity data provides the strongest independent evidence:
These 85–100% affinity scores confirm that the same job seekers — and by extension, the same job postings — appear across all major platforms. No GCC employer survey was found that directly asks "how many platforms do you cross-post to?", but the global benchmark (US employers use 3+ channels on average per iHire 2025, n=529 employers) combined with the smaller number of viable GCC platforms suggests 3–5 platforms per professional role as the most plausible range. [8][9]ihire.com +1
⚠️ No GCC employer survey was found that directly asks "which platforms do you post jobs to?" or "how many platforms per role?" This is a structural data gap confirmed across HR tech vendor surveys (Elevatus.io, Jisr), staffing surveys (PeopleConnect Global, Cooper Fitch), salary guides (Hays, Michael Page, Robert Walters), and HR conference surveys (HR Tech MENA Summit 2025). The best available directional evidence comes from practitioner assessments:
SimilarWeb provides the best independent, non-vendor-biased data on platform reach in the GCC:

Key insight: Indeed.com commands the highest global rank (#55) and longest average visit duration (7:21), consistent with its aggregator model drawing the largest raw inventory. LinkedIn (#18 global) is classified as a social network rather than a jobs site but is the dominant professional hiring platform in practice. Among dedicated GCC job boards, Naukrigulf leads in UAE (#2 category rank), while Bayt leads in KSA (#9 category rank).
A critical methodological distinction: the platform presence rates in this section estimate share of job POSTINGS by platform — i.e., what percentage of publicly advertised vacancies appear on each platform. This is fundamentally different from share of HIRES by sourcing channel (covered in Section 2). A role posted on 5 platforms still represents one advertised opening, and the hire may ultimately come through a channel (referral, direct approach) that was never part of the public posting at all. The two metrics measure different things and are not directly comparable.
note⚠️ LOW TO MEDIUM CONFIDENCE overall. No GCC-specific employer survey was found that breaks down hires by sourcing channel. These estimates are synthesized by adapting global benchmarks with GCC-specific structural adjustments. Ranges reflect plausible variation between UAE/KSA (primary focus) and smaller GCC states.
| Sourcing Channel | Est. Share of Professional Hires | Confidence | Basis & Key Sources |
|---|---|---|---|
| Employee referrals / personal networks / wasta | 25–45% | Low | Global referral benchmark ~30% (Jobvite/iCIMS 2024). GCC wasta culture well-documented qualitatively. GASTAT Q3 2024: 87.7% of Saudi job seekers asked friends/relatives (fell to 50.5% in Q2 2025; not separately reported Q4 2025). Likely the single largest channel in the GCC.
